Assembling rudder skeleton - 19 July 2008

Started cleco'ing the rudder skeleton together. First I fit the lower rib to the spar, then attached the rudder horn and final drilled the holes. Then I fabricated the shim that goes underneath the horn, fit and drilled it.

Next was to fit and drill the 3 doublers at the hinge points. Then attach the tip rib, counterbalance rib, and fit the counberbalance skin and drill the attachment holes

Next I attached the skins and cleco'd them into place and match drilled the skin holes
Rudder horn brace Rudder horn brace(Full size)
Cut the rudder horn brace as shown on the plans, then fit that to the skeleton. Match drilled the holes.

Here is where I quit for the day. Only parts left to assemble are the lower attach strips
