I called Van's about the short edge margin on the attach angle. They said it was fine. I was worried about back-drilling through the spar again, and they said not to worry about that, the rivet would expand and fill the hole if it got too large. I am going to think about making another angle, a little wider so that one hole has edge margin. For now, I am finished with the horizontal stabilizer.
